Events
Roster: Many members have requested the NCBF develop a projects list
for the coming year. Based on 2003, that is a tough assignment because calls for
our assistance continue to come in without warning. But, every effort will be
made to control sudden, overnight or late calls to the membership for help. We
will try to present requests for assistance at least a month in advance. On the
other hand, please present ideas, events we can participate in, and events that
would benefit the membership, adult and youth.
By-Law Changes: A question was raised concerning a possible change to the bylaws if the NCBF added tournaments to the schedule. It was decided a change was not required because the qualifying tournaments rules and operation did not change.
Membership Campaign: Several options will be presented at the next Board meeting in February. Chuck Walker will review the Associate Membership category to address the increased request to join as associate member. The current associate membership status is being used to get a new boat cover free if you belong to a Federation. That is not the intent of the “associate category”.
State Castingkids Contest: The NCBF board needs to hold a state Castingkids competition between January 2nd and March 15th. The board is still looking for a place to hold the finals. The Boy Scout Troop leader has been in contact with Debbie and the NCBF youth will assist in the fishing derby if the Board accepts the project.
