NCBF Executive Board Meeting

December 2004

Location: The Nations Capitol Bass Federation (NCBF) 7:00 pm meeting was held at the Trinity United Methodist Church . The Church is located at the corner of Germantown Road (Route 118) and Clopper Road (Route 117) in Germantown , Maryland .

Call to Order:  The meeting was called to order at 7:20 pm .

Roll Call:  Executive Board and members in attendance: Chuck Walker, Jim Kline, Chuck Hartzman, John Freeze, B.J. Walsh, Tim Cameron, and[PC1]  Marc Leone.

Treasurer’s Report: Current balance is $9806.16. B.A.S.S. renewals are due by

31 December. We are still awaiting the $1000 bond refund from the U.S. Park Service. Membership renewal statements will be mailed out for 2005 ($60.00). Accepted.

Old Business

Picnic: The picnic was totally cancelled for this year.

Bolling AFB Casting Kids: This event was cancelled for this year.

NCBF Open Tournament: Should we plan a second tournament for the fall of 2005? The vote was unanimous to have a second tournament.

New Business

Elections: The ballots will be counted at the January Membership meeting. The 2005 Executive Board will be sworn in during the meeting.

Bassmaster: The new B.A.S.S. Grass Roots Trail. A new blind draw/shared weight tournament concept was[PC2]  introduced. Federation members will have priority registration. There will be a VA/NC division and a NE division (MD/VA).

For more information on the Bassmaster Series go to www.bassmasters.com. Beginning 01 January 2005 , ESPN2 will show nothing but bass fishing shows ( 7 am to noon [PC3] ).

Membership Dues for 2006: A proposal was made to increase dues by $5.00 for memberships for 2006 with the exception of the youth. This will have to be voted on by the membership in 2005.

2004 State Team Standings: The TX committee will meet to put together and propose a team to the Executive Board the 2004 State Team. We need to start looking for lodging in Maine for the team traveling up there in September.

Trout Pond: Bob Dobart has accepted our proposal to operate a trout pond at the BASS Expo. He has also provided a booth for our use. His questions are as follows:

            1. What is the size of the pond? 10X20.

2. What is the cost to the Promoter? $0.00

3. How much will we charge? $3.00 for 5 minutes.

4. How will the proceeds be used? NCBF Youth & State Team travel.

5. Where will the fish come from? PA. hatchery.

6. Who will provide the necessary permits? Can’t find need.

7. How will the pond and booth be staffed? NCBF volunteers. SEE ATTACHED.

8. What hours? Entire show hours.

9. How will set up, cleanup and breakdown be done? NCBF volunteers.

Project point credits: “two” 3 hour shifts = “One” project point.

“Three” or more “3” hour shifts = “Two” project points.

Laptop Computer Requirement: Tabled.

Scales: Scales will be [PC4] sent to be reconditioned and should be back before the first tournament.

Boy Scout Troop: May 7th and 14th[PC5] , 2005 (Project)

EDT 2005: September 18th - 23rd. Lake Cobbee…… in Winthrop , Maine .

NCBF Clothing/Hats: Becky Sisson has delivered the new NCBF hats with logos. They are available for sale at $15.00 ea. They come in 3 different color styles and can be purchased at meetings, tournaments, or by calling Chuck Walker (301) 977-5282. We also have the new BASS NCBF Federation patches for sale at $3.00 ea.

Next Meeting: The next regularly scheduled NCBF Board meeting is scheduled for January 9th @ 10 AM at the Montgomery County Police Training Academy .
