Board Meeting Minutes

in attendance, 14.
Treasurer’s
Report:
Keith Wright presented the final 2003 Treasurer’s Report. He also reported the
U.S. Park Service still holds $1000 from a NCBF posted bond. The bond was
necessary to use the
OLD BUSINESS
Trout
Pond: Greg Dice, Wayne Winninger and Keith Wright designed a portable
Trout fishing pond to be used at special events. The cost to construct the pond
would be approximately $1000. Storage space has been offered by Danny Shantz.
Nomination
Ballots:
Chuck Walker was nominated for President, Bo Curry was nominated for 1st
Vice President and he accepted; Danny Shanz was nominated for 2nd
Vice President and he accepted; Chuck Hartzman was nominated for Secretary and
he accepted; and Jim Kline volunteered to serve as Treasurer and he was
accepted.
2004
Dues: To
date, the NCBF has received 45 member dues. The Treasurer and Secretary will
re-invoice the remaining membership to include a notation of late fees.
Web
Site: It is
important to visit the NCBF web-site because it contains current events,
tournament information, application(s) and future programs. The Secretary will
mail info to all members without e-mail access. The NCBF web-site is linked to
the B.A.S.S. web-site and all other Federations. Please forward your email
address to Chuck Hartzman at hawgbass@hotmail.com.
A
Ranger Contract has been requested for review and if OK will be signed. In
addition, we expected a new crop on offers will be presented to us in the
spring.
NCBF
Castingkids Contest: The NCBF must hold a contest between January 2nd and March
15th to qualify two finalists to send to
Federation
Nationals: The
National will be held in
Bassmaster
Classic: The Classic will be in
NCBF Clothing: Becky Sisson is taking orders for sports clothing. She is able to purchase and stitch your ideas onto the clothing. She can provide all the club or team wear you may need. The NCBF line of clothing and decals have been posted with pictures and prices. The company is Stitch-N-Stuff at 301-774-4503 or link through www.fishncbf.net. She has been very generous with her time and in supplying all the clothing for our Junior and Adult State Teams.
NEW BUSINESS
Proclamation:
Larry Yates and the outgoing Board presented a Proclamation to Alan for the
outstanding work in helping to form and run the NCBF for the past three years.
His dedication, hard work and the sacrifices he made to do the work has paid off
as the NCBF is recognized throughout the metropolitan area and at the national
BASS level. Thanks
for a professional job well done.
Additional
NCBF Tournaments: The Tournament Director, Bo Curry formed a committee with Danny Shanz,
John Sisson, and Tim Cameron to look at a 2004 events calendar to add two or
three more tournaments to the three qualifiers. The 2004 ballots contained space
for the voters to select 6 places to fish in 2004. The top votes, in order, were
the 2 ramps on the
Zebco
Contract:
Zebco, a Federation Sponsor, has presented a contract to the NCBF that basically
offers 3 rod and reel combos for give-a-ways, valued at $885. The NCBF in turn
must wear their patches to the Nationals (Danny Shanz), display their logo at
our tournaments, on our web site and carry liability insurance in the amount of
$250,000. Although the contract is due to them before the end of 2003, the item
will be presented to the membership at the January meeting.
National
Registered Agent: This lawyer group represents the NCBF in the
