 Executive Board Minutes

March 19, 2002

Location: The Nations Capitol Bass Federation Executive Board meet at the Dancing Crab Restaurant at 4611 Wisconsin Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20016; 202-244-1882.

Call To Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM.

Roll Call: Alan Mullis, Chuck Walker, Keith Wright, and Larry Yates.

Treasurer’s Report: Keith Wright reported an income of $6450 with expenses totaling $1336, for a net balance of $5114. At present the accounts receivable balance is $600. Invoice statements have been sent to all with an outstanding balance due. Alan Mullis reported receiving 2 checks from members totaling $120. This amount reduces accounts receivable to $480.

Jr. State Team: This item again was deferred to June 2000 agenda. Please don’t forget to take name and all information on any kid who asks to be a part of NCBF. How about your kids?

Membership: Keith Wright reported NCBF has 64 members on our roster. All, except two, have been forwarded to B.A.S.S. to be added to the official roster. Each NCBF member is being notified by mail to help recruit new members to the D.C. Federation. The applications are on the website or call a board member for one. The season is in full swing and members need to let the Federation know how they can help. Call Chuck Walker at 301-977-5282.

Friends Of the Potomac: Bill Kramer will call Alan Mullis to arrange for any help he will need the day of the Friends of The Potomac tournament. Bill, as chair of this tournament, will recruit additional help from the NCBF for all Friends events.

Incorporation Papers. Chuck Walker reported the signed incorporation documents have been forwarded to the District of Columbia Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs for approval. Their review process generally takes three to four weeks to complete before we are notified of our status.

Youth: Debbie Muth is moving forward with her plans for the NCBF youth program. She is in contact with Sylvia Whitworth at D.C. Fisheries and Wildlife on the Youth Aquatic Education program.

B.A.S.S. A meeting will be held to put together a quarterly report to B.A.S.S. as a part of our agreement to get a full charter. The issue of getting a list of D.C. residents from B.A.S.S. was put on hold until our report was developed. The request could be a part of that report.

Web Site: A vote was taken to approve the registration of  “fishncbf.com” as our additional logon to the web page.

Logo: Chuck contacted the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on their requirements to get the NCBF logo registered with the federal government. The process requires a very lengthy but simple paper process to get the recognition we require. The Board decided, based on Chuck’s recommendation, to wait until 2003 to file for the rights to our logo. The decision was made to delay the application process until NCBF is fully accredited with B.A.S.S.

Anacostia Cleanup: Keith via NCBF’s request for a letter to Sen. Mary Landrieu concerning the $2.25 million dollar grant to the Louisiana State University for the study of the Anacostia Watershed is being developed. Alan will contact the Anacostia Watershed Society to get an idea how we can assist their effort to clean up the Anacostia shoreline on Saturday, APRIL 20, 2002. This project is an NCBF authorized project. Please call Allan at 301-349-2081 for information on your assignment.

Bonding and insurance: Chuck reported to the board the cost to bond board member and/or committee chairman to be within the $300 range per year.

Tx Trail: The tournament trail dates are posted and will be included in your letter. Sigh-up is required to fish. Join and fish. The ramp sites will be announced in plenty of time to send in your entry fee.

Next Executive Board Meeting: The next meeting will take place at Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church. 3655 Calvert Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.(Corner of Wisconsin Avenue & Calvert Street – in the Wesley Room at 7:00 PM).

The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Chuck Walker/NCBF Secretary
