Call To Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM.
Roll Call: Alan Mullis, Chuck Walker, Keith Wright, Larry Yates, and Bo Curry.
Treasury Report: Keith Wright reported an income of $5,660.00 with expenses totaling $1276.00, for a net balance of $4,384.00. At present the accounts receivable balance is $560.00. Invoice statements have been sent to all with an outstanding balance due. Keith requested we review web site: www.paypal.com to review the different types of credit card polices and cost available for NCBF use.
Jr. State Team: A vote was taken and it was decided not to send a Jr. State team to Delaware for 2002. The formation of a Jr. State Team will be on the June 2002 agenda for 2003.
Friends of Potomac: It was decided that NCBF would help the day of the tournament with weigh-in, boats for camera crews and press, if needed, and provide any other help that may be needed the day of the tournament. Alan will call Bill Kramer to for more details. Bill Kramer will chair the project and recruit help from NCBF members for anything else Friends of the Potomac may need throughout the year.
Incorporation Papers: Chuck Walker reported that the incorporation papers had been signed by all the board members and needed to be notarized. He was going to check to see if a Maryland notary could notarize the papers or if we all needed to go to D.C.
Youth: Debbie Muth has been working with Sylvia Whitworth at D.C. Fisheries and Wildlife on the Youth Aquatic Education program. They are lining up kids for youth clubs from both schools and churches in D.C. Hardtimes Bassmasters agreed to sponsor the current youth group that Debbie Muth runs now. We are contacting the D.C. police boys and girls clubs to bring in some members.
B.A.S.S.: A discussion was held about sending a letter to B.A.S.S. asking for help contacting B.A.S.S. members in D.C. that are not members of federations. It was decided that Alan would e-mail Al Smith and ask for help. Several firemen in NCBF will be asked to provide a list of their friends on the D.C. fire department. Contact will be made with Chief Charles Ramsey to bring in some of those members he talked about in his support letter.
Web Site: Keith and Alan have been working on the web site and have it looking good. There were a few ideas given and they are checking into them. There will be a member's only section that allows the board members access to budgets, databases and other information.
Logo: It was decided that Chuck would check into having the logo registered. Becky Sisson is working on the logo for clothes. It was also decided that we should have someone in the membership, who is familiar with legal matters, check with an attorney on the subject.
Anacostia: Keith is writing a letter to Sen. Mary Landrieu who allocated the 2.25 million-dollar grant to Louisiana State University for the study of the Anacostia Clean Up. Alan is going to get in touch with Anacostia Watershed Society to see if we can be of any help on April 20th for the earth day shoreline clean up.
Bonding and Insurance: Chuck is checking into bonding of the executive board and insurance for the federation.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 PM.
Respectfully Submitted,
Chuck Walker/NCBF Secretary
