New Business:

State Team Qualifications: A great deal of discussion has taken place over the past two years concerning the NCBF’s method of qualifying for the state team. That discussion resulted in a vote by the membership of 19 to 2 to institute a point system to determine the State Team members for the 2007 year.

The Tournament Format is as follows:

The State Team shall be determined on a combined point basis of all qualifying tournaments. Each qualifying tournament shall be worth a total of 100 points to the person with the highest weight and in one (1) point descending increments as follows: 1st Place 100 points, 2nd Place 99 points, 3rd Place 98 points etc. Both Boaters and Non-Boaters will be combined into this system by total weight. If an angler does not weigh a fish, that angler will be awarded 50 “Show up” points. At the end of the last qualifying tournament, the top anglers shall be Team Members and the 13th ranked angler shall be the 1st Alternate. The President shall be the 2nd Alternate.

All other tournament rules remain unchanged.

Funds Raiser: The NCBF will host the trout pond at the Montgomery County Fair grounds from August 10th to August 18th. The fair will be open at noon until 10 PM. This effort will raise enough money to fund all our Youth and Adult programs. Each member will be asked to work one day of the 8 days. We will need a crew of 4 members each day to handle the crowds, money and fish. Our youth will be on hand the weekend to assist the adults. Our family and friends will be asked to help. A roster and details will be developed. Please mark you calendars to donate a day.

Youth Programs: 1. Our NCBF kids from the Murch Elementary School will be fishing on the Tidal Basin at 9 AM until noon on April 21st.2. They will also be visiting the D.C. Fisheries at the Anacostia Park on April 28th at 9 AM . This is an educational tour and fishing opportunity for the kids from the bank. Volunteers are needed for both events.
